A new trailer dropped for DreamWorks' animated How to Train Your Dragons spin-off series' second season, Dragons: The Nine Realms. Placing a focus on a ragtag group of kids, the show takes place 1,300 years after the events of the film franchise, placing us in the modern day, the team finds a massive fissure in the Earth's surface.

While leading scientists are unable to understand the miles-deep trench, the group of kids find out where exactly the dragons have been hiding out for all these years. Instead of going forth and revealing to the world that dragons are real and very much alive, the team decide to vow as Dragon Riders to keep this place a secret and avoid people from figuring out the truth.

In this season, it's getting more and more difficult to keep their goal in sight as Project ICARIS furthers their expidition into the fissure. On top of that, Jun, D’Angelo, and Alex wonder why Tom and Thunder go out on these solo quests and learn exactly why.

Dragons: The Nine Realms' seven-episode run will also, of course, feature new dragons and more adventures to be had with the Dragon Riders, with its voice cast remaining intact. John Tellegen retains his showrunner and executive producer spot alongside Chuck Austen and Henry Gilroy.
