It seems the revival of King of the Hill from Hulu will focus on the world moving around Hank Hill while he remains the same.
The first poster for the series continuation sees Dale playing a VR game and vaping, Boomhauer reading a smart tablet, and Bill ordering from a variation of Uber Eats. Meanwhile, Hank Hill looks exactly the same as where viewers left him when the series first concluded after 13 seasons on September 13, 2009.
Now, Hank, Bill, Dale, and Boomhauer are set to return for a 14th season on Hulu.
Fox Entertainment stated that the revival will not return to the Animation Domination programming block, as the network prefers to air shows that they fully own.
Bill Dauterive voice actor Stephen Root, previously disclosed that the revival would have a time jump and pick up several years after the finale of the 13th season, with Bobby Hill now significantly older. Bobby now reportedly works as a chef in Dallas.
A number of familiar voices are making a comeback, with several original cast members reprising their iconic roles. Mike Judge is set to return as both Hank Hill and Boomhauer, while Kathy Najimy steps back into the role of Peggy Hill.
Pamela Adlon will once again voice Bobby Hill, joined by Stephen Root as the lovable Bill Dauterive. Lauren Tom is back to bring Minh and Connie Souphanousinphone to life, and Ashley Gardner will reprise her dual roles as Nancy Gribble and Didi Hill. Additionally, Jonathan Joss is confirmed to return as John Redcorn.
Tragically, several of the original voice actors have passed away since the original series finale, including Brittany Murphy (Luanne Platter), Tom Petty (Lucky Kleinschmidt), and Johnny Hardwick (Dale Gribble). In Hardwick's case, he recorded voice lines as Dale for a few episodes but reportedly, did not finish recording for the entire season.
Fans are anxious to learn whether these beloved supporting characters will be incorporated or written off the show.
According to several trustworthy news outlets, Hulu has given the King of the Hill revival a two-season order.
An exact release date has not been specified, but the show has a confirmed release window of Summer 2025.
Mike Judge and fellow co-creator Greg Daniels, along with select cast members, are slated to appear at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas, on May 30, 2025. Attendees can look forward to an exclusive first look at the upcoming King of the Hill revival, with additional insights and announcements anticipated during the event.
