Hank Hill appears to be in his own little slice of heaven as he takes a guided tour of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Museum.
The original King of the Hill show ended after 13 seasons in 2009. While never exactly specified, the show's timeline has always been roughly concurrent with its broadcast years.
That means, Hank was probably in Saudia Arabia when the George W. Bush Presidential Center was completed in 2013.
The museum featured in the scene is located on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) in University Park, Texas, just outside of Dallas. It's possible that Hank and Peggy might be in town to visit their son Bobby, who is now working as a professional chef in the Dallas area.
After years off the air, King of the Hill is officially returning for a long-awaited 14th season, premiering August 4, but this time, the show is headed to Hulu, not Fox.
That’s because King of the Hill, now under the Disney umbrella, no longer fits into Fox’s Sunday Animation Domination lineup. Fox has since shifted its focus to animated series it fully owns, leaving the new home of Arlen, Texas squarely in Hulu’s hands.
The upcoming season comes with a time jump, picking up several years after the events of the original finale. One of the biggest updates? Bobby Hill is now a grown-up and working as a professional chef in Dallas, offering a fresh take on the next chapter of the Hill family’s life.
Much of the original cast is returning to bring fan-favorite characters back to life. Mike Judge reprises his roles as both Hank Hill and Boomhauer, joined by Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill and Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill. Stephen Root returns as the ever-lovable Bill Dauterive, while Lauren Tom is back as both Minh and Connie Souphanousinphone. Ashley Gardner reprises her roles as Nancy Gribble and Didi Hill, and Jonathan Joss will once again voice John Redcorn.
In a show of confidence, Hulu has already greenlit the revival for two seasons.
"After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane."
