DICKTOWN SEASON 2 Interview With Creators And Main Voice Performers John Hodgman And David Rees (Exclusive)

Episodes of the Fxx and Hulu animation Dicktown have been airing all month with the Season 2 finale tonight so we spoke with the creators/voice actors behind the show itself - John Hodgman and David Rees!

Adult animation has grown and expanded over the years and has particularly helped the animation industry. However, many big live film productions were forced to shut down and delay their filming and release dates while animators and voice actors have been able to work from home and collaborate via the internet and zoom.

One such show that has thrived during the pandemic is Dicktown, an animated series from FXX and Hulu about two man-children attempting to solve mysteries utilizing their still child-like sensibilities and tactics, which only causes more mayhem for the cases the two solve.

The man-children that lead Dicktown are John Hutchman and David Purefoy, which are based on the likenesses of the creators themselves, John Hodgman and David Rees. After checking out the second season of the show, we were lucky enough to be able to interview them exclusively, so we talked not only about that and learned that their characters are nothing like them at all!

We talk about many things, so make sure you check out the full video for yourself below and let us know whether you'll be tuning in tonight for the finale of Dicktown tonight at 11!

To promote Season 2 of Dicktown ahead of its Season 2 finale episodes tonight, we spoke with the stars and creators of the projects, Mark Hodgman and David Rees. As the main characters, John "Hunchman" and David "Purefoy," clearly glean the likeness and names and voices from the real men, we dug into the similarities and differences between them and what got the project going in the first place.

The three of us discuss Hunchman and Reed's arcs and where they are left at the end of the last episode we've seen and tease for what a possible future could contain. Trying to keep these two hilarious clowns on topic, we discussed that while it is being touted that all of Season 1 and 2 of Dicktown will be available to view on Hulu that, there is always a possibility the audience is up for a surprise as it releases just before April Fool's Day.

We chatted about the inspiration behind the show itself and what was considered to be added to the series, as well as what was ultimately left out of the episodes due to time or other restrictions. I found out that David is the music director and handles all of the show's songs which adds that he wears even another feather in his cap.

A wonderful time was had by all, so hop on in and enjoy the video and tune in tonight for the final two episodes of Dicktown - or the whole series for those who haven't yet caught up. Also, don't forget to check out the full article on Comic Book Movie's Toonado!

The finale episodes of Dicktown hit FXX on Hulu tonight at 11 pm, with both full seasons streaming tomorrow on April Fool's Day.
