Lately, Disney has had live-action remake fever, bringing to life some of their most iconic animated films such as Mulan and The Lion King, with a whole new vision. Now, with the release of Disney+, there is a whole new venue to truly hit the ground running with these new live-action adaptions of classic animated stories.
The idea has already been put into effect on the service with the release of Lady and the Tramp, which was positively received. Now, even the cartoons that have garnered a cult following seem to be getting the live-action attention, starting with one show, in particular, Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers.
For some time now, a CGI/ Live-action hybrid film that is based on the show has been n the cards; however, there have never been any legs for it to start production officially. Now, with Disney + being the main focus of content for the company, pre-production has officially begun on the project!
Rumors have been flying around since the announcement, but there is reason to believe that the original voice cast of the show may return for the film, which starts production in the Spring of next year. We would love to hear your thoughts on the news in the comments below!
Chip and Dale are two chipmunks who start a detective agency, Rescue Rangers, along with their friends Gadget Hackwrench, Monterey Jack, and Zipper. The pint-sized detectives deal with crimes that are often "too small" for the police to handle, usually with other animals as their clients.
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers is coming soon to Disney+!
