Kevin Feige disclosed to those in attendance for a Disney Investor presentation in Burbank, CA that the first episode for the previously announced WHAT IF animated series for Disney+ will focus on Captain America and Peggy Carter. Specifically, the episode will examine what would have happened if Peggy Carter had taken the super soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers.
Additionally, Steve Rogers will still join the fight in World War II, thanks to an Iron Man-esque metal suit made by Tony Stark's father, Howard Stark.
Feige confirmed that MCU talent will be reprising the voices in the series, so expect Hayley Atwell to voice Peggy, Chris Evans to voice Steve Rogers and either Dominic Cooper or John Slattery to provide the voice for Howard Stark. No word yet on whether Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes or Tommy Lee Jones' General Chester Phillips will appear.
Disney+ is set to launch this November.
Marvel Comics' What If, is a series of comic books that debuted in 1977 and provided alternate retellings of key historical Marvel events. Standout issues include "What If Gwen Stacy Had Lived?" and "What If Spider-Man Had Joined The Fantastic Four?"
