Nimble Collective, founded in 2014, is known for providing a secure cloud-based environment for collaborating on animation products, using streaming via a browser interface instead of being required to download install anything. Their website boasts that they are developing a complete ecosystem built by creators, for creators, and with creators to remove the brands, businesses, barriers, and enabling artists with the ultimate goal of creating quality animated product, providing a comprehensive Cloud-Based Animation Platform that encompasses resources, community support, and creator capability.
Nimble Collective announced jointly with Toon Boom at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival that they will be partnering and offering Toon Boom's Harmony and Storyboard Pro animation software to Nimble's cloud-based animation production platform. It shouldn't come a surprise that more partnerships are taking place to further animation innovation. In 2018 alone, Annecy was filled with announcements that readied the world for a massive expansion of animation, both in the usual areas as well as expanding to countries not normally touched. You can see in the comments below from Nimble Collective CEO Rex Grignon that this is no different, and that many companies are looking to expand their reach to touch more cultures that are generally left in the shadow of animation. Read the quote below and see Nimble's Youtube announcement yourself!
"The world is full of people who are often underrepresented in mainstream entertainment who are eager to see the stories of their cultures reflected on screen, and animation is a universally popular medium for storytelling. Animation is becoming accessible to all thanks to the availability of paperless, digital solutions like Toon Boom Animation software, which can be downloaded anywhere and produce high-quality work on-time and on-budget with minimal training." - Rex Grignon, Nimble Collective co-founder and CEO
What do you think of this new collaboration? It seems like a win-win but let us know your thoughts in the comments!
