Ahead of the upcoming E3 gaming event, THQ Nordic are to unveil three new games. The first of those titles has been now been announced (via Gamefragger) and it's a remake of the SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom game which originally released for the PlayStation 2 and Game Boy Advance.

Check out the studio's tweet below:

Purple Lamp Studios are the developers behind this version, retitling it: SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated. It will reportedly be a faithful remake, however, will include new features like a two-player horde mode (which will be playable online or with split-screen).

We currently don't know the game's release date but we do know that it will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can check out the synopsis which THQ Nordic released below:

"Are you ready, kids? The cult classic is back, faithfully remade in spongetastic splendor! Play as SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy and show the evil Plankton that crime pays even less than Mr. Krabs. Want to save Bikini Bottom from lots of rampant robots? Of course you do! Want to underpants bungee jump? Why wouldn't you! Want to join forces in a brand new multiplayer mode? The battle is on!"
