When the prospect of a live-action Dora The Explorer was first announced, from Michael Bay at that, many people advocated for singer and actress Selena Gomez to be cast in the role. This plea didn't come to fruition as Transformers: The Last Knight actress Isabela Mona was cast in the role - and it was revealed that Bay, the over-the-top Transformers director, was in-fact not attached to the project.
Well, thanks to some recently unveiled fan-art from artist BossLogic we can see what the live-action endeavour might've looked like had Paramount gone in a different direction. Gomez as Dora, with Bay in the director's chair, is evidently more badass and insane than that of the actual one.
Check it out below:
A while back we were given our first look at Moner in the role. She wore the traditional pink shirt, orange shorts, and rocked the typical haircut. Well. It would seem that Gomez, whilst still sporting the regular get-up, also sports a shark-tooth necklace, an eyepatch, rides a quad-bike, and wields a katana. The explosions in the background are clearly an homage to Bay's liking of intense action and destruction. It's pretty clear which version takes the top spot.
What do you think of BossLogic's fan-art? Which version of the Dora The Explorer movie is your favourite?
Dora The Explorer is set to be released on August 2nd, 2019.
