The Simpsons' annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode premiered last night and, as expected, featured a couple of haunting tales - but what wasn't expected was a cameo by fellow animated series Futurama. The Animation on FOX YouTube channel uploaded a clip of the cameo in-question - which can be seen below.

One of the episode's terrible tales features alien spores making their way to Earth from outer space. On their way, the horrible gas passes a familiar ship to fans of the now cancelled animated series Futurama. The Planet Express ship can be seen dragging a sign behind it which reads "Bring Back Futurama" before it's quickly shot out of the sky by another vessel.

The other ship is the USS Orville from Fox's live-action, comedy, sci-fi series The Orville which is lead by Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane. Watch it for yourself:

What do you think of the clip? Would you like to see the return of Futurama?

The Simpsons airs on Sundays on Fox.
