Grammy Award-winning performer Lizzo announced that she'd be lending her voice to the season 34 finale of The Simpsons last week, and we now have a first look at the two characters she'll play in the episode.
"Homer's Adventure Through the Windshield Glass" sounds like it's going to be one of the more bizarre instalments of the long-running animated comedy series, as the entire episode takes place in the few seconds that Homer goes flying through the windshield of his car.
"We had this idea for a long time, and it always felt like a pipe dream, but then we figured out a way to do it," executive producer Tim Long tells EW. "Then the issue from a story point of view is: 'Who is he going to talk to?' We thought, 'Well, his incredibly messy car is going to be filled with children's toys and stuff.' So she's playing this happy little elf doll that comes to life and becomes his spirit guide."
Lizzo voices the elf, but also appears as herself towards the end of the episode.
Of course, you can't invite Lizzo to be a guest star on The Simpsons and not have her belt out a tune, and Long also revealed that she'll be singing an original song called "It Was Marge, Bitch."
"I can't give you too much context without giving you too much story," says Long, who penned the song in question. "But it is really in her wheelhouse — and she sang the hell out of it."
The season 34 finale of The Simpsons airs this May.
