Two of the most popular nerd-based Intellectual properties during the '80s were Star Wars and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. TMNT was so popular that once the animated series launched in 1987, it was only a few years before the heroes in a half shell crawled out of the sewers and onto the big screen, a medium which Star Wars already dominated.

Playmate was looking to bring these two franchises together in the '90s with a line of crossover toys. Although it never happened, there were combinations like Darth Shredder that fans could not add to their collections.

Thanks to some new concept art shared by Alan Johnson of WB Games, we now have a chance to look at what some of those looked like. In addition to the incredible Dart Shredder, there is also Leo Skywalker, Princess April, and ChewMikey. The images also feature Raphael's version of R2D2 and a Donatello mix with each Yoda and C3PO.

Take a look for yourself below!

What do you guys make of this concept art? Is this something you wish would have happened, or are you glad it remained on paper? Regardless, be sure to sound off in the comments with your thoughts!
