The Cuphead Show was officially announced by Studio MDHR and Netflix in July of last year. This project is based on the tough-as-nails run-and-gun Cuphead game developed by Studio MDHR — which features a very polished style of animation that makes the game look like a cartoon from the 1930s.
As revealed by both the studio and Netflix, The Cuphead Show will be featuring that very same art style, and will be written as a show that both kids and adults can enjoy. Unfortunately, much information about the show, including release date, was not revealed at the time.
Studio MDHR and Netflix have recently released a new, albeit a tad short, video for The Cuphead Show, which reveals that Tru Valentino and Frank Todaro will be the ones bringing titular characters Cuphead and Mugman to life, respectively, when the series finally becomes available.
This sneak peek for The Cuphead Show also sees the producers talking about the show itself, and how they are bringing their A game to make this series the best they can; judging by what's been shown, they have definitely done a wonderful job so far.
A release date for the show has yet to be revealed, so we will have to wait for more official announcements by the producers. In the meantime, be sure to check out this sneak peek for The Cuphead Show down below.
The character-driven comedy follows the unique misadventures of the impulsive Cuphead and his cautious but easily swayed brother Mugman. Through their many misadventures across their surreal home of the Inkwell Isles, they’ve always got one another’s backs.”
The Cuphead Show is currently in the works.
