PBS and PBS Kids are where many parents go when it comes down to safe content for their children to experience. Now, since YouTube is a popular platform for children, it should come as no surprise to find out that folks will soon have the option to stream PBS Kids directly from the video platform.
From what we have gathered so far, supported PBS stations will only be available on YouTube TV's live TV and on-demand subscription service. The plan is to deliver educational and live TV to interested viewers, and that means plenty of cartoons for children to watch.
“We’re excited to launch our very first local live stream on YouTube TV,” said PBS Chief Digital and Marketing Officer Ira Rubenstein. “Our goal is to reach as many Americans as possible with content that educates, inspires and entertains. As a broadcaster that is rooted in communities, we appreciate YouTube’s commitment to local content, and we are pleased that this service provides audiences with access to programming that is produced and distributed by our member stations.”
It's no surprise that PBS is sharing its content on YouTube because the company is funded by the federal Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
