Batman: The Animated Series debuted way back in the 1990s but remains a classic even to this day — almost thirty years later. Featuring Kevin Conroy as one of the most iconic iterations of the Caped Crusader, Batman: The Animated Series featured a plethora of great stories and features all manner of the heroic character's Rogues Gallery.
Well, professional art director Raf Grassetti recently decided to give Batman and his many villains a makeover. Grassetti is best known for his work on Santa Monica Studio's acclaimed God of War game. As of late, he's been bringing to life realistic versions of popular video game characters — Star Fox and his crew, for instance.
Recently, Grassetti decided to change it up a bit and put together realistic renditions of characters from Batman: The Animated Series. They maintain their character designs from the cartoon but look infinitely more uncanny and real. It's pretty snazzy and impressive; it's sure to pique the interest of fans of the series.
You can check them all out below (as well as individually over on the artist's Instagram profile: @RafGrassetti). There's The Riddler, Two-Face, The Joker, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Catwoman, Man-Bat, Clayface, The Phantasm, The Ventriloquist, The Penguin, and Bane. Oh, and Batman himself.
