Anyone who has seen the first Pokémon movie -
Mewtwo Strikes Back - from 1999 or last year's release of the CG remake
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution (now on Netflix) will be no stranger to clone versions of Pokémon. In the movie the antagonist and titular character Mewtwo clones many of the powerful creatures that challenge it and these creations bear interesting markings on their skin to set them apart from their genetic relatives.
Although they have existed for years, these creatures are only just now being introduced in Niantic's
Pokémon Go. To coincide with Netflix's release of the aforementioned film and in conjunction with the annual Pokémon Day that takes place today, February 27th, the developer has now released clone versions of four Pokémon into their mobile title.
Raid Bosses now include the mighty Clone Venusaur, the powerful Clone Blastoise, and the fiery Clone Charizard. All of these creatures are the final evolutions of the Kanto starters Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. In addition, Clone Pikachu has a chance of appearing during Go Snapshot, so keep your eyes peeled!
