Walt Disney Company continues to bolster its Disney+ offerings, announcing Muppets Now — a new unscripted, short-form series starring Kermit, Miss Piggy and the rest of the company
Premiering on the streaming service in 2020, the announcement didn't come with many details thanks to Joe the legal Weasel.
“You are not authorized to offer a peak, sneak or otherwise,” the stubborn weasel told Kermit in the brief clip. “I know how you frogs are, you’re always looking to leap into the next big thing.”
Thankfully, Kermit went to Twitter where he shared a "restricted" message that also revealed the series will feature celebrity guest stars. The specific names were redacted though.
Muppets Now will hopefully find more success on Disney+ than the previous ABC series, The Muppets, which was cancelled after just one season back in 2016. Walt Disney Pictures also released two previous movies — The Muppets in 2011, which became the highest-grossing film in the franchise with $165 million worldwide, and Muppets Most Wanted in 2014.
