Niantic's augmented reality mobile game
Pokémon GO is still a major hit, even three years after its initial release in 2016. In order to keep fans interested, one of the things that that Niantic is doing is constantly releasing new species into
Pokémon GO, hoping to entice Trainers to keep logging in and trying to catch' em all.
Leafeon and Glaceon are the latest additions to the game, and they are the Grass and Ice type evolutions of Eevee. Luckily, during the recent
Detective Pikachu event, there were plenty of Eevee around, so many players should have the candy required to evolve at least one of these new "Eevee-lutions".
Initially, it was assumed that these new Pokémon could only be obtained by evolving them in range of one of the newly released lures - Glacial and Mossy - but it has now been discovered that Trainers can use a similar naming trick on their Eevee to obtain Leafeon and Glaceon much easier just as it was with the other five forms.
If you're looking for the Ice-Type Glaceon, you'll want to re-name your Eevee "Rea". Once you do, you will notice the Evolution image change from the traditional question marks to the form of the Glaceon you're looking to evolve into. To obtain a Leafeon, meanwhile, rename your Eevee "Linnea", and you will receive the Grass-Type Pokémon.
