After finding mainstream popularity as a villain on
Arrow,
Deathstroke has thus far been unable to transition to the big screen. Other than a brief cameo appearance on
Justice League, a
Deathstroke solo film is currently in development hell.
But worry not,
Deathstroke fans; a few months ago, it was announced that the CW is working on a 12-episode animated series to be streamed exclusively on its CW Seed platform.
Check out the tweet announcing the show's premiere date:
The series won't be part of a shared universe. Furthermore, the title character will be voiced by
The Shield's Michael Chiklis and not Manu Bennett as previously assumed.
