An animated series based on the loud-mouth mercenary Deadpool is still possible according to the character's creator Rob Liefeld. In an interview with Nerdist, Liefeld even states that Deadpool is just as popular as Spider-Man. Liefeld also states that he has no source or "inside information" on this, these are his own claims.

An animated series was in the works with "Childish Gambino" Donald Glover but eventually got scrapped. Glover stated that due to Marvel Television getting in the way and dealing with FX, the show was cancelled which made Glover leak the script for everyone to read.

Deadpool has been getting a lot of points lately, with Deadpool 2 and Once Upon a Deadpool, the character has been getting a lot of promotion and popularity points. An animated series still being possible is not that crazy, right? What do you think? Check out the full interview right here.

Once Upon a Deadpool is in theaters now
