If you haven’t been keeping up with what’s going on in the world of sports, then let us point out that the FIFA World Cup recently concluded in Russia. France came away as the winner, while Croatia took the second spot.
In some ways, Croatia is probably the biggest winner at the World Cup because the country has around 3.5 million people living on its lands, and not to mention, reaching the final is a first for the country’s football team.
After the end, it was reported that Croatian captain, Luka Modric walked away with the Golden Ball, which means he was the best player at the tournament. With all of these successes, a cartoon was created with the captain and Croatia’s President, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
The cartoon shows the President delivering to Modric the trophy but also a sandwich. We understand that this beautiful cartoon is melting a lot of hearts online, as Football fans acknowledge how hard the Croatian team has worked to reach the finals.
Not to mention, President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic traveled in economy class to watch her country play its first match in Russia. Additionally, she was seated in the regular stands with all the fans instead of the more expensive option.
Overall, this cartoon from the folks at Amul speaks a lot to the love of Football and that any team with the right motivation, can make a big splash on the world’s stage. Let’s home Croatia shows similar or better determination in 2022.
