Apple & Onion, a Cartoon Network animated comedy series about an apple and an onion who are best friends, will debut for the first time on German television come September 10th.
The series, which will be called Apfel & Lauch in German, is centered around Apple and Onion, two friends who are sent away from their hometown by their parents to live in the city. With an optimistic outlook and a juvenile demeanor, they soon realize that they are ill-equipped to navigate their world, which is filled with other anthropomorphic foods, and must adjust to their new lives. The first season of the series has a total of 10 episodes.
Apple & Onion was created through Cartoon Network’s Artists Program by George Gendi, a former storyboard artist for Cartoon Network’s The Amazing World of Gumball and Sanjay and Craig, for which he also was an executive producer.
Cartoon Network green-lit Apple & Onion back in 2017. The series had a limited Cartoon Network US release in February of 2018, where it ran every Friday until the end of March.
