After years of airing in the after-hours of the primetime TV, usually following Cartoon Network’s daily scheduled programming, Adult Swim has finally received a 24-hour, all-day channel. However, it will only be made available in Canada.

It will feature all the fan-favorite shows such as Rick and Morty, Robot Chicken, The Eric Andre Show, Fox’s Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, American Dad and more. The channel was well-known for its brand of mature comedy content, as well as other ventures.

The Adult Swim channel will be following the same programming as its American counterpart, airing series new and old concurrently. Cartoon Network Canada will push all of its adult-content to its former late-night block, to its new channel. CN themselves will focus on shows oriented towards younger audiences.

Daniel Eves, Senior Vice President of Corus Entertainment, had this to say:

“We’re thrilled to bring the unique Adult Swim experience to viewers in Canada. Adult Swim rounds out our specialty portfolio with its one-of-a-kind programming, and strengthens Corus’ presence as the leader in specialty entertainment in Canada.”

The Adult Swim Channel launches on April 1st, 2019 (let’s hope it isn’t an elaborate joke.)
