It's possible that you might not be familiar with Cartoon Forum, as it is located in Toulouse, France. For those of you who aren't, it is a pitching and co-pro forum for animated TV projects located in Toulouse, France. For three days, producers have the opportunity to pitch their project in front of 950 broadcasters, investors, and other potential partners from forty different countries.
Cartoon Forum was created in 1990, and since it's inception it has found financing for 734 series, representing a total budget of 2.5 billion Euro. This year, the 2018 Cartoon Forum slate represents a total of 342 million Euro, or 405 million US dollars, in terms of its selected projects aggregate production budget, as well as 517 hours of animated entertainment. Just under half of the projects are 2D, nd the average production is $4.6 million, which is a bit higher than 2017's $3.9 million by comparison.
Amongst the Countries that will be presenting are France, the U.K., Germany, Belgium, Spain, Finland, Italy, Canada, Greece, Hungary, and Cypress, with Cypress a first time presenter and France dominating the bunch with a whopping 28 projects.
