A new teaser for Rick and Morty season 7 confirms that a premiere date for the upcoming season will finally be announced next week.
The news comes at a time when the Rick and Morty fandom appears to be divided on whether to continue supporting the Emmy-award winning show.
That's because Adult Swim previously announced back in January 2023 that it had "ended its association" with series co-creator Justin Roiland following charges of a domestic abuse event that was alleged to have occurred back in 2020.
However, the charges were dropped in March following the Orange County district attorney's office revealing that there was not enough evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
Since then, fans of Rick and Morty were clamoring for Adult Swim to bring Roilland back but it looks as if the show will be soldiering on without its co-creator, at least for season 7. Despite the charges being dropped, there were reports of a number of unsavory workplace incidents and online comments by Roiland that surfaced alongside the domestic abuse allegations.
Season 7 of Rick and Morty previously announced a fall premiere, but it looks like next week will see Adult Swim provide fans with an exact date.
Hulu also dropped Roiland from Solar Opposites, another show he co-created.
Rick and Morty is the Emmy award-winning half-hour animated hit comedy series on Adult Swim that follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe.
