As more details about Disney+'s highly-anticipated X-Men: The Animated Series revival, X-Men '97, continue to find their way online, this latest rumor is scorching hot. You might even say, it's like an Inferno (sorry).
Possible spoilers follow.
According to reliable scooper @MyTimeToShineHello, the new series will feature the animated debut of the Goblin Queen herself, Madelyne Pryor.
In the comics, Pryor was an incredibly powerful mutant who bore a striking resemblance to Jean Grey. After positioning herself as an enemy of the X-Men, it came to light that she was actually a clone of Jean created by Mr. Sinister, who was hoping to produce the ultimate mutant via a union between Pryor and Scott Summers, aka Cyclops.
The character has a long and somewhat convoluted history, so it'll be interesting to see how Maddie is utilized for this show.
Still no premiere date announcement, but a new teaser did debut during San Diego Comic-Con last weekend, so we'll hopefully get some official updates soon.
