Whatever their thoughts may be about Henry Cavill's version of Superman in the DCEU, it is difficult for anyone to criticize his performance in The Witcher. The live-action Netflix series was so popular in a single season that a second season of the mainline show was immediately announced along with two additional The Witcher titled also headed to the streamer.
Apart from the second season of The Witcher, which is set to release on Netflix in December, there is another live-action series called Blood Origin, set 1200 years before the events of Henry Cavill's adventures ad Geralt. On top of that, there is also an animated prequel hitting the streamer this month.
Called The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, the animated prequel is not a series, but instead, a standalone film. Geralt's mentor Vesemir is the center of the movie, charting his events prior to meeting Geralt, and a new two-minute trailer has now been dropped by Netflix to give fans a better look at what to expect when Nightmare of the Wolf drops in two weeks.
Take a look at the trailer for yourself below, along with the synopsis for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Regardless of your thoughts, be sure to share them in the usual spot!
Escaping from poverty to become a witcher, Vesemir slays monsters for coin and glory, but when a new menace rises, he must face the demons of his past.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf premieres on August 23, 2021, worldwide on Netflix.
