Back in November, Masters of the Universe: Revelation showrunner Kevin Smith said that we shouldn't expect to get our first look at the upcoming Netflix original series for six months. Well, it has now been about that long. However, we probably shouldn't expect our first look anytime soon regardless given the current state of the world — what with most places being in lockdown.

Though, Smith did recently state that production of Masters of the Universe: Revelation has continued in spite of the coronavirus pandemic that's currently plaguing most of the world. Of course, that isn't to say that it's business as usual but rather that the animation crew and writers are working from home.

During a recent episode of his podcast, FatMan Beyond, Smith and co-host Marc Bernardin talked about what they've been up to during the lockdown and what they've managed to continue working on despite it.

"I have been working on Masters of the Universe, but that's circling back over on stuff that's been done," Smith began before teasing that the animatics he has seen are stunning.

I saw two animatics for episodes one and two and they're f-cking outstanding, but I was like 'Oh my God, I can write in some more dialogue.' So I wrote another page down that I could throw in while fights are going on and stuff, but that's just circling over stuff that's been done. But you can feel productive. It's breaking new ground where I'm like 'Take it forward,' and that's what I'm gonna spend the next week doing, just taking my head out of the news and putting my head into my fake f-cking mall.

That all certainly sounds tantalising and we can't wait to actually see the series in action. The voice cast includes Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Chris Wood as Prince Adam A.K.A. He-Man, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, and many more.

Just to be clear; Masters of the Universe: Revelation is totally separate from the other upcoming 3D CG animated series based on Masters of the Universe that's in the works for Netflix — you can find out more on that here.
