This year marks the 35th since the
Transformers franchise began and it's about time it crossed over with
Power Rangers already. As of this year, they're both owned by Hasbro — so there's no longer an excuse. They're both beloved children's shows that feature hulking, colourful mechs and the
Power Rangers movie from 2017 even made a reference to the
Transformers character of Bumblebee.
Comicbook.com recently asked, an official at Hasbro, John Warden for his take on the possibility of a crossover involving the two popular franchises. Warden is the Senior Design Manager for the
Transformers franchise and, revealed in this recent interview that, he believes a crossover could happen. In fact, just bringing up the idea of one spawned countless ideas in his head.
"Oh yeah. Oh yeah, my gears are already starting to turn," Warden said. Not only that, but he also teased that now would be the time for it to happen.
"For all those 90s kids out there I think it’s there moment now to make this happen. You know…yeah, that would be cool."
Like Warden, surely you can picture the Power Rangers building up their Megazord to take on an Autobot or Decepticon. Perhaps the Megazord could even be converted into a Transformer of some kind. The possiblities are endless. Fingers crossed that Warden took the idea back to Hasbro and it'll one day come to fruition.
