Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Sony's newest animated movie, has finally arrived. Last night saw the theatrical release of Into The Spider-Verse wherein it competed against, the Peter Jackson-produced adventure film, Mortal Engines. Needless to say, Spider-Verse came out on top.
The first in a planned lineup of future animated films from Sony raked in $3.5 million last night - according to a report by Deadline - and is expected to garner $35-40 million during the weekend.
Though Into The Spider-Verse's 98% on Rotten Tomatoes suggests that the film will continue to reign over the Box Office, it's got some challengers on the way as next week will see the release of both Mary Poppins Returns and Aquaman.
Synopsis: In the "classic Spider-Man mold", Miles Morales must juggle his high school life with his status as a superhero, as he is introduced to the "Spider-Verse" where there can be more than just one Spider-Man.
