It's almost been a year since Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse made its debut in theatres. The animated film earned quite acclaim as well as massive success at the box office — it even won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film.

Previously, Sony has confirmed that sequels and spinoffs are in the works. There's apparently a pure sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse being developed as well as a spinoff which will focus on Hailee Steinfeld's Gwen Stacy character — find out more on those here.

It might be time we find something out about those projects as Sony has posted multiple cryptic posts to social media (via @Spiderverse) which appear to be teasing that a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse announcement is imminent. "Something's up. Our Spidey sense is tingling," reads the tweet.

Other official Sony Twitter accounts have replied and retweeted the initial tweet as well as other companies who would be privy to information about forthcoming announcements — like Fandango and Entertainment Tonight, for instance. You can check out the tweet for yourself below:
