In a recent interview with Variety, Lindsay Lohan made it clear that she would look to take on the role of Ariel in the upcoming, live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

The Mean Girls star discussed the original ainmated classic, mentioning that it's her favourite movie and that it always brings a smile to her face. 
"The Little Mermaid is my favorite movie since I was a kid. Whenever I put that move on, it makes me happy. I'm like, 'Everybody, stop. Watch this movie.'"

The interviewer then asked whether Lohan had been approached for a role in the upcoming remake, to which the actress stated that she hadn't as well as her intent to change that. 
"No, but I'm going to harass my agent about it after this."

The live-action remake is currently being developed by director Rob Marshall and Disney. It'll feature songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, songwriter for Moana and Mary Poppins Returns, as well as Alan Menken's songs which featured in the original animated film. Some rumours claim that Zendaya and Lady Gaga are up for the roles of Ariel and Ursula respectively.
