Walt Disney Animation's
Ralph Breaks the Internet, the upcoming
Wreck-it Ralph sequel practically broke the internet itself a few months ago when the first trailer teased a cameo appearance from Disney's princesses. Since then, we've both heard and seen more about the eagerly awaited moment when Vanellope von Schweetz meets these iconic characters. Perhaps one of the most intriguing parts about their appearance in the film is the fact that we'll see these princesses unlike we've ever seen them before - dressed down and relaxing in casual attire. It's certainly an empowering moment and one that Funko will celebrate with a new line of Rock Candy figures.
Funko first introduced its Rock Candy line a few years ago as a way to honor "the most powerful women around," so it only makes sense that they create new figures based on the princesses appearance in
Ralph Breaks the Internet. A total of 11 new Funko Rocky Candy figures will be released with the characters sporting the same casual attire as in the film and some sort of pose or item that best reflects them. For example, Belle (from
Beauty and the Beast ) is wearing gold leggings and a t-shirt with red flats while posing with her nose stuck in a book. Mulan (from
Mulan) is sporting jeans and a jacket with a sword draped casually over her shoulder.
The Rock Candy Snow White is actually a Specialty Series exclusive. Anna and Elsa (from
Frozen), meanwhile, are Target exclusives. And lastly, Rock Candy Aurora (from
Sleeping Beauty ) is a Funko Shop Limited Edition exclusive.
“Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”
Ralph Breaks the Internet hits theaters November 21. The Funko Rock Candy line featuring the Disney princesses is "coming soon."
