Barbie has now passed $574.2 million at the domestic box office to officially become the highest-grossing movie of 2023, and Warner Bros. has announced that Greta Gerwig's acclaimed comedy will be returning to theatres for a limited IMAX run next month.
The film, which stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, will be given a one-week IMAX release beginning on September 22, this version will include all-new post-credit footage.
We're not sure exactly what this additional scene will entail, but it was chosen by Gerwig herself.

"So many Barbie fans went on this journey with us, and we can’t thank them enough for supporting the film and sharing their ‘Barbie’ experience in theaters, across social media, and out in the world. We made Barbie for the big screen, so it’s a thrill to be able to bring it to IMAX, the biggest screen of all. And as a special thanks to Barbie fans, we’re excited to share a little bit more of our cast and crew’s incredible work by adding special new footage we hope audiences will enjoy.”

The film’s producers are Oscar nominee David Heyman (Marriage Story, Gravity), Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Robbie Brenner, with Gerwig, Baumbach, Ynon Kreiz, Richard Dickson, Michael Sharp, Josey McNamara, Courtenay Valenti, Toby Emmerich and Cate Adams serving as executive producers.
