When the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home hit, it was met with so much excitement that it quickly broke the record for most views in 24 hours. With all of the characters and plot points teased in the footage, it's no wonder why so many people tuned in for the preview, as there is a lot to break down.
While most people watching the trailer were excited to see Alfred Molina's Doc Ock and Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, die-hard MCU fans focused on the more minor, more minute details. Examples of these teases include an interdimensional Sinister Six and the return of Jamie Foxx's Electro and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, not to mention a potential appearance by Thomas Hayden Church's Sandman and Rhys Ifans's Lizard.
With Venom now being confirmed to factor into the film in some way, there are countless theories as to what the whole story is. Still, despite the many villains that are and could be appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there are minute details that are still being raked over by MCU enthusiasts, such as the mystery woman in the car during the Doc Ock scene.
The woman above has been dismissed as a minor character by some, while others are convinced that the camera lingers on her for a reason. Theories arose that she could be the mother of Miles Morales, or perhaps an older version of Liz or MJ due to the multiverse and time-twisting shenanigans No Way Home has to offer.
One Redditor seems to have stumbled upon who this mystery woman is, and the theory makes the most sense of all those circulating thus far. As user u/Apprehensive-Ad-7600 points out, this mystery character portrayed by actress Paula Newsome looks and dresses exactly like a character from the 1990's cartoon Spider-Man: The Animated Series - Detective Terri Lee.
The Spider-Man: The Animated Series wiki states that "Detective Terri Lee was a police officer who investigated when Spider-Man became a criminal. However, it turned out Spider-Man had been framed by Mysterio for revenge, and Spider-Man and Terri teamed up to clear his name."
Detective Terri Lee's main claim to fame aligns with the end of Far From Home, in which Mysterio frames Peter. Furthermore, the character was also involved in the Morbius and Blade storylines, and with Michael Keaton's Vulture appearing in Morbius, could this be the second character to tie these films together?
What do you guys think? Is this character Detective Terri Lee? If so, could she be essential in tying this universe together further with a Morbius connection? Regardless of your thoughts, be sure to share them in the usual spot!
