THE SIMPSONS Kind Of Predicted Richard Branson's Space Journey

The long-running sitcom, The Simpsons, appeared to have predicted entrepreneur Richard Branson's journey into space a whole seven years before it actually happened.

If there was any animated family-centered sitcom that needs no introduction, it's The Simpsons. The series has been running for years and time and time again, fans have been treated to eerily real-to-life gags that one can off-handedly dismiss were it not completely accurate. Such is the case of a 2014 episode of the sitcom, The War of Art.

In the episode, Branson can be seen in space. What's more the clip shared by the billionaire had him in a similar fashion to his animated counterpart. In The Simpsons, he could be seen admiring a painting whilst enjoying the zero-gravity in the ship.

It didn't take long for keen viewers to put two-and-two together and started sharing a screenshot from the episode like wildfire, leading to even Virgin Atlantic sharing the meme and saying The Simpsons predicted it. Constastly, some felt this was a bit of an overreach to call this a prediction as most anyone could've predicted this as soon as Virgin Galatic was officially a thing a decade before the 2014 episode.

That being said, it's hard to refute that The Simpsons hasn't at least managed to acurately predict some things. The long-running comedy had infamously predicted the presidency of business moguel Donald Trump, the Disney-Fox merger, smart-watches, and more. It's also notable that even the show's writers refute their Nostrodomus-level forward thinking.
