FOX has somewhat become the hub for adult animated comedies, typically in a sitcom style, housing award-winning shows like Family Guy and Bob's Burgers, while also propping up others like The Great North and somewhat new to the block Grimsburg. As expected, the animation-centered program block, Animation Domination, is right around the corner, coming in at the end of next month complete with new episodes of your favorite animated sitcoms.
Starting on May 29, the block returns, kicking things off with a new episode of Bob's Burgers at 8 PM followed by Grimsburg at 8:30. Episode of Bob's Burgers we can expect include the family matriarch, Linda, dragging everyone on a family walk, the Belcher kids finding success in an illegal snack operation at school, a casino episode, and more. Bob's Burgers is among the list of wildly successful animated sitcoms for FOX, nabbing awards, including an Emmy.
Meanwhile, Grimsburg will reverse Flute and Summer's role amid a slew of male sex workers are found dead. Executive producers Catlan McClelland and Matthew Schlissel double as the show's creator with lead Jon Hamm, Gail Berman, and Hend Baghdady also taking executive producer roles. Chadd Gindin takes the reigns as the showrunner.
For those looking for more of a classic, long-running Family Guy has new episodes including Lois going on a journey of self-discovery, dating Bonnie in the process after joining a group of mothers looking to ban books. Meanwhile, in another episode Meg joins a mission to Mars training program, and Stewie brings Mark Twain to present day.
Finally, we have The Great North, which follows Wolf searching for Judy before they miss their fancy French restaurant reservation, Beef and Walt's friendship is put to the test, and more to come over the summer. Taking place in Alaska, The Great North follows the Tobin family, headed by patriarch Beef, voiced by Duncanville and Parks and Recreation actor Nick Offerman, as they learn to get along even when he's a touch overbearing.
The series is written by Regular Show's Minty Lewis, with Wendy and Lizzie Molyneux act as executive producers alongside Bob's Burgers creator Loren Bouchard.
All in all, it seems like FOX is shaping up to have a pretty good line up of animated series for fans to sink their teeth into during Animation Domination this summer. Remember, it starts at 8 PM ET on May 29. Only a few days after the season finale of Krapopolis on May 18.
