Disney Television Animation has spoiled fans eagerly awaiting for The Ghost and Molly McGee with a brand-new clip of the duo meeting for the first time. The clip (watch it below) was showcased during the Comic-Con@Home 2021 event alongside a promo for Season 3 of Disney's Amphibia. The clip is about two minutes and displays the buddy-comedy style and a reason behind the ghost being on Molly's beckon call. This clip shows both the duo meeting and her parents, too.
While Molly McGee seeks to better the world with her bubbly personality and can-do attitude, Scratch simply wants everyone to be miserable, hence the buddy comedy style the series is going for. Meeting the characters, we have Molly, voiced by Steven Universe alum Ashly Burch. She's a tween girl with an often overly opptomistic attitude contrasting with Dana Snyder's character of Scratch, a ghost who has cursed Molly, only to find it's a curse that's backfired.
Despite what you may think, the series is pretty well-established ahead of its release to Disney Channel with a clip shared last year of her worrying about her first day of school and Scratch lying through his spectral teeth about being a popular ghost in the Ghost World. It ends with Molly realizing how silly it is to get wrapped up in that as she loves making people happy and would no doubt find friends. The theme song, which Burch herself sang, was also revealed back in May.
While The Ghost and Molly McGee is still a few months away, it already has a fair few interested as they look for the next hit series. It's also a series that has representation of the LGBT fandom and a poorly speculated reason that The Owl House isn't getting an extended Season 3.
The Ghost and Molly McGee is premiering to Disney Channel and DisneyNOW this October.
