RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON Is Now Free To Stream On Disney+ For All Subscribers

Walt Disney Animation Studios' fantasy adventure Raya and the Last Dragon is now free to stream on Disney+ as the $30 Premier Access fee has been lifted.

Disney+ subscribers who have been holding off on watching Raya and the Last Dragon on the streaming service to avoid the Premier Access fee will be happy to know that as of today, they can now watch it for free! The $30 fee that's associated with most of Disney's films that are released directly to Disney+ has been lifted today. As a result, anyone who is subscribed to Disney+ can watch it with no additional charge.

Raya and the Last Dragon originally released in March of this year. However, due to the pandemic, Disney opted to release the film simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ with the $30 Premier Access. Anyone who pays this fee can rewatch the movie as many times as they want as long as they are a Disney+ subscriber. Typically, the Premier Access fee is attached to a new release for three months before being lifted.

Raya and the Last Dragon has been available on major digital platforms and 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD for a few weeks now.

Disney's decision to tack on the Premier Access fee seems to vary from movie to movie. While Mulan was locked behind Premier Access, Soul released straight to Disney+ with no extra fee. Currently, Cruella is streaming on Disney+ with the Premier Access fee but later this month Luca will hit the service for free. Marvel's Black Widow is also going to be having a simultaneous theatrical and Disney+ (with Premier Access) release on July 9.

Raya and the Last Dragon is an epic fantasy adventure set in a world where humans and dragons once lived together in harmony. 500 years after dragons sacrificed themselves to ward off evil, that same evil has returned. Raya must track down the legendary last dragon to restore the land and its divided people.

“Raya and the Last Dragon” takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.

Raya and the Last Dragon was met with rave reviews upon release, racking up a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.
