Earlier this year, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that
Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be returning for a new season on Disney+, giving fans the closure they've longed for since the animated series was abruptly canceled after five broadcast seasons. In anticipation for the show's revival on Disney's streaming service later this year, the time has come for Netflix to finally bid farewell to the series.
It was confirmed that all
Star Wars: The Clone Wars content will be removed from Netflix on April 7. This includes all five seasons of the series along with
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - The Lost Missions and the
Star Wars: The Clone Wars film.
This move doesn't come as a terrible surprise as we've known for quite a while that Disney's
Star Wars and
Marvel content will be shifting to its own streaming service, set to launch later this year. Still, if you don't plan on subscribing to Disney+, it only gives you a limited time to watch the hit animated series before it's gone from Netflix for good.
When
Star Wars: The Clone Wars does arrive on Disney+, it will come with 12 new episodes that explore
"the unfinished business between Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and their exiled Jedi-in-training Ahsoka Tano."
Star Wars: The Clone Wars arrives on Disney+ in 2019.
