Following Disney's acqusition of Lucasfilm back in 2012, Star Wars: The Clone Wars was cancelled before it could air its final season - replacing it was another animated series: Star Wars Rebels.
Thankfully, last year it was confirmed that Star Wars: The Clone Wars would be returning. The highly-anticipated seventh season will be one of the many Star Wars series to be distributed through Disney's upcoming streaming service.
Though its release date had been correctly assumed already; thanks to a recent Entertainment Weekly article, we now have confirmation that The Clone Wars will be arriving in 2019. The EW article also confirms that Disney+ will see the release of The Mandalorian, a live-action Star Wars series, this year.
Here's how EW describe the upcoming season of The Clone Wars: "the Disney+ streaming service has commissioned 12 new episodes exploring the unfinished business between Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and their exiled Jedi-in-training Ahsoka Tano"
