South Park is gearing up to air another one-hour special event inspired by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In September of last year, the Award-winning series hosted its first "Pandemic Special" which took shots at President Donald Trump, police brutality, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The series will once again address the pandemic, only this time the focus seems to be on the ongoing vaccination effort.
The episode is titled "South ParQ Vaccination Special," and is set to premiere on Wednesday, March 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. The accompanying tweet read "We will be herd," which is almost certainly a nod to "herd immunity" through either infection or vaccination. The title also seems to suggest the episode will tackle cultural and hot-button issues related to the vaccine, with the "Q" likely referencing conspiracies and misinformation spread by the group QAnon.
The official synopsis reads:
The citizens of South ParQ are clamoring for the COVID-19 vaccine. A hilarious new militant group tries to stop the boys from getting their teacher vaccinated.
As much as happened since the first Pandemic Special last fall, it's quite possible that this episode will also poke fun at some of the more recent events that have unfolded in America. It wouldn't come as a shock if there's a bit about the Capitol storming, election controversy, and Donald Trump leaving the White House.
South Park's "South ParQ Vaccination Special" will air on Comedy Central on Wednesday, March 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT with two encore airings at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The premiere will simulcast on MTV2.
If you missed the first special, you can catch South ParQ's The Pandemic Special on Wednesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT.
