Samurai Jack is an action-packed animated series that debuted back in 2001 and aired until 2004 but was revived for a single season in 2017. Genndy Tartakovsky is responsible for both creating, writing, and directing Samurai Jack (for the most part). Tartakovsky is also known for
Dexter's Laboratory, 2003's
Star Wars: Clone Wars, and recently Adult Swim's
Primal.
Earlier today, the first official trailer for
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time was released and serves as the announcement of an upcoming video game based on the aforementioned animated series. It's a 3D hack-and-slash game in which players assume the role of Jack and traverse different timelines in order to eventually take on Aku in a final showdown.
It's said that
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time will release in Summer for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Adult Swim Games develop with Soleil. Series head writer Darrick Bachman is responsible for the game's script. As you can see in the official trailer below; the game features a stylised appearance akin to that of Tartakosky's animated series.
