Interest is back on Blizzard's Diablo game series, following the announcement that its third instalment will be ported to the Nintendo Switch, but even more excitingly; Variety recently reported that the world's most popular streaming service are looking to make an animated series based on the Diablo franchise.

Andrew Cosby, founder of Boom! Studios, recently tweeted that he is in "final talks" with Netflix and Activision regarding an animated series which is currently in-development. “It’s very exciting and I hope to the High Heavens it all works out." This tweet has since vanished from the face of the Earth, which thereby makes the situation even more suspicious and intriguing.

Considering that last month a leak supposed that Hellboy writer Andrew Cosby has been tasked with writing the rumored Diablo series, it seems all but confirmed at this point. With BlizzCon coming up in November, perhaps we can expect an official announcement - considering how eager Cosby was to get the word out.

What do you think? Would you like to see an animated series based on Diablo - seemingly, in the same vein as Netflix's Castlevania?
