While his sister She-Ra has been enjoying the spotlight thanks to an acclaimed animated series on Netflix, it's been some time since fans have seen Prince Adam embark on any new adventures. Fortunately for fans, that's all about to change.

In a surprising turn of events, Mallrats director Kevin Smith officially unveiled plans for a new Netflix show titled Masters of the Universe: Revelations. This new project, which is described as an anime, is a limited series that will actually take place within the same continuity as the original '80s animated classic, resolving several unfinished storylines.

Alongside Smith, who will act as showrunner, Revelations boasts an impressive team of writers that includes Eric Carrasco (Justice League vs the Fatal Five), Tim Sheridan (Teen Titans Go!), Diya Mishra (Magic the Gathering) and Marc Bernardin (Castle Rock).

To go along with this announcement Netflix also released the first official poster for Masters of the Universe: Revelations. Check it out below.
