Brian Griffin's upcoming wedding, which will feature in season seventeen's premiere episode, will be as "til death do us part" as they come.

We've known that the Family Guy's fan-favourite pup will be tying the knot at some point in the coming season, but thanks to the recently passed San Diego Comic-Con event, we now have a better grasp of what it entails. Executive producer and co-showrunner Richard Appel explained to Comicbook.com that Brian's impending nuptials are more complex than previously thought.

Brian falls in love with a woman who is dying, and she says to him, 'I'll never know the joys of being a mother and growing old and being married,' and he says, 'You know, I can actually make one of those things happen, and that’s who he marries.

Comedian and actress Casey Wilson, who is known most predominantly for her roles on Saturday Night Live and her Bravo-centric podcast B-Sesh, will be voicing Brian's bride.

Appel further explained: "Things take unexpected turns. It’s kind of our take on what married life is like." Producer Alec Sulkin then added: "From a bunch of guys who are batting .500."

What do you think about the episode's concept? Are you looking forward to season seventeen of Family Guy?
