BATMAN AND SUPERMAN: BATTLE OF THE SUPER SONS Animated Film Gets Trailer And Release Date

DC's animated films are certainly catching up with the comics as evidenced by the trailer for Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, described as being the company's first all-CG production.

Time was that when a storyline dealt with the offspring of Batman and/or Superman, it tended to be an imaginary tale with no consequences. That's changed in recent years with Superman and Lois Lane's son, Jon, teaming up with Batman and Talia al Ghul's son, Damian. Now that particular pairing is the focus of the animated film, Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, coming to digital, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on October 18.

Warner Bros. Animation describes the plot as follows: "Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons begins as 11-year-old Jonathan Kent discovers he has superpowers, thrusting the half-Kryptonian into the complicated world of  super heroes and super-villains, who are now under attack by a malevolent alien force known as Starro. It's a race against time as Jonathan must join forces with assassin-turned-Boy Wonder Damian Wayne to rescue their fathers and save the planet by becoming the Super Sons they were destined to be."

The voice cast includes Jack Dylan Glazer as Jonathan Kent, Jack Griffo as Damian Wayne, Troy Baker as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Superman/Clark Kent, Laura Bailey as Lois Lane, Darin De Paul as Lex Luthor and Starro, Tom Kenny as Green Arrow and Penguin, Zeno Robinson as Jimmy Olsen and Melvin Masters, Nolan North as Jor-El, and Myrna Velasco as Wonder Girl and Lara.

The film is directed by Matt Peters, written by Jeremy Adams and prodcued by Jim Krieg, with Rick Morales as supervising producer, and Michael Uslan and Sam Register as executive producers.

Again, look for Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons on October 18.
