FAMILY GUY Releases Animation Domination PSA Encouraging Vaccination
After Family Guy broke free from Adult Swim to jump to Disney-owned platforms, the team released a PSA encouraging its viewership to get vaccinated from COVID-19.
As Family Guy finds a new home on Disney-owned platforms, the team dropped a public service announcement over on YouTube with everyone's favorite oaf, talking dog, and brainiac baby to encourage its viewers get vaccinated from COVID-19.
The video, which spans about 3:30 minutes, starts with Peter waiting to get his vaccine and questions why he has to -- all the while mispronouncing the name -- get it. He then asks Doctor Hartman how vaccines work and he gives a terrible explanation involving a "large ethnic bouncer" and a "drunken entitled white kid," leading to Stewie deciding to take the lead while Brian forcibly tags along as the two transport into Peter's body.
Stewie produces to explain how vaccines activate our immune response without actively getting sick and training our body to battle the real threat. The video specifically notes that some of the COVID vaccines utilize spike proteins that simulate COVID-19 without the worry of infection or spreading. Meanwhile MRNA versions use the genetic code of the virus to produce a fake variant to then make antibodies that will be ready to battle the invading virus when time comes, reducing your chances of getting seriously ill.
Oh and in true Family Guy fashion, the virus is represented with Meg's face, because why wouldn't it be?
