Adult Swim has many popular properties, with Rick and Morty arguably topping them all when it comes to the sheer size of the fanbase. So for that reason alone, it makes perfect sense that Cartoon Network would want to keep the duo in the spotlight with plenty of new content.

However, when it comes to Rick and Morty, the series is notorious for taking its time churning out new episodes. Although the series premiered almost nine years ago, there are only five seasons so far, which indicates the length of time in the off-season.

Because of this, it's no wonder that Adult Swim steadily releases shorts and hilarious promotional videos to keep the fans of Rick and Morty happy. There are countless examples, including the recent live-action Christopher Lloyd-laden shorts and the many anime adventures the duo has encountered, and now there's a brand new adventure lined up just in time for Halloween.

As Season 5 only recently ended, fans have expected a long wait before Season 6 lands on Adult Swim. Still, it has now been revealed that a Halloween special featuring the iconic grandfather-grandson duo will air in just two weeks, titled The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara.

As you can see above, the 17th of this month is celebrating DC Fandome with the Batman flicks Batman Ninja and Batman: Under the Red Hood. In addition, the tweet subtly added in the release of the new Rick and Morty horror short among the other times, causing excitement to erupt amongst Rick and Morty lovers on social media.

Are you guys excited about the Halloween special? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual spot, and if you haven't yet, you can view our exclusive chat with Summer Smith voice actress Spencer Grammer below!

Spencer Grammer is in the house! The actress and voice performer behind Rick & Morty's Summer Smith stops by the show to talk about the character now that she's voiced her for a decade! We dig deep into Summer's character arc and how a mixture of her own personality and the writing helped lend to that growth.

Discussing which characters she'd like to see re-visit the show, we shared plenty of laughs about Bucket Head, Snowball, Summer's ex, and more. We joke about a potential crossover where she finds her ex-boyfriend in the Solar Opposites wall and what dimension Summer would choose to visit with Rick's portal gun - The Neverending Story.

Talk turns to her father, Frasier and X-Men star Kelsey Grammer, and we discuss why he doesn't watch Rick and Morty, and we even cook up a jestful scheme that would see the actor play Summer's father from a different dimension, as Frasier. Spencer shares tidbits about her decade of experience with the show and makes it clear that she has no plans to leave the character of Summer behind, as well as talking to us about a few of her other projects.

Rick and Morty Season 5 is now available to stream on the Adult Swim app. The Halloween Special, The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara, will air on October 17th at 4:15 AM EST.
