Laurence Fishburne first played Bill Foster in Ant-Man and The Wasp, and while he was something of an antagonist, we'd learn he simply wanted to help Ghost overcome the illness that was causing her to fade into nothingness.
The sequel's post-credits scene saw Scott Lang head into the Quantum Realm to retrieve the necessary materials to cure Ava Starr, but The Blip then happened, and he got stuck there (Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne, and The Wasp, meanwhile, all faded into dust). As a result, we don't know what became of Ghost, though she is set to return in Thunderbolts next year.
As for Fishburne, the actor recently confirmed that he'll be back as Bill in What If...? season 2.
We've previously heard that he'll star in an episode set during the 1980s, and a new Marvel Legends action figure reveals what Foster will look like suited up as the heroic Goliath.
The costume clearly pays homage to the character's comic book roots but still delivers an MCU-style spin on his appearance. It's doubtful we'll ever get to see Goliath in live-action, so we're sure many of you will welcome his inclusion in the animated series...when it finally returns to Disney+.
Despite it once looking like What If...? season 2 would debut in 2023, 2024 now looks more likely (some online scoopers have gone so far as to suggest it might be pushed as far back as 2025). It's also been reported that the series will only run for a total of three seasons during the Multiverse Saga.
The response to What If...? was a positive one, and while the animation style wasn't for everyone, the show boasted a star-studded cast and put a fun spin on many of the stories we've become incredibly familiar with.
